Option 3

1 65W PC SunPaq Dual Actinic 420/460nm
1 65W PC 50/50 10000°K/Actinic 460nm

Option 4
2 175W MH 10000°K
2 96W PC 50/50 10000°K/Actinic 460nm

Option 5
2 175W MH 10000°K

Option 6
2 175W MH 10000°K

1 96W PC 50/50 10000°K/Actinic 460nm

Any other suggestion will be greatly appreciated…

My recommendations for that tank:

Option 1
2 Iwasaki 150w DE MH 50k (this bulb rocks)
2 VHO super actinics

Option 2
2 54w T5 aquablue
plus
2 54w T5 blueplus
OR
2 VHO super actinic

PC lighting is best avoided for reef tanks, IMO. The intensity just isn't there compared to some of the other technologies. Your goal should be maximum intensity for minimum amount of electricity.

Any of you know of a good place to get them at a reasonalble price?

i have an Iwaskaki 15k 175w with one 96w PC Actinic. i am very satisfied with this setup on my 92g corner which is deeper than a 55. My LPS in particular have colored up really nice and open up well to the light.

heres an old pic but i think the colors are fairly well represented here even though its just a point and shoot olympus camera. ill try and take a new pic tommorrow when its cleaned up a little bit.

Option 2
2 175W MH 10000°K
2 65W PC SunPaq Dual Actinic 420/460nm

The kelvin temperature of the light bulbs is just a theoretical measurement fellas, although they state a temperature close to what the light bulb color is any manufacturer can come up and say .....thats a 100k light bulb :D

I have the Current Nova Extreme T5 4x54 and a Current Sunpod MH 2x150 14K. Both have moonlights. I'm very satisfied with the colors they show in my tank. These are on my 75 gal. (48x18x18)

I previously had PC's and the T5's are a definite step up!

Thanks for the info!!!

Jeff, 50K is that a typo or did they come up with that temp bulb already?

It's a "50k" in name, but has the appearance of a nice white/blue bulb (perhaps 14/15k). If you look at the spectral plots, it has great output, and colors really pop under it. But, because it's only available in relatively low wattages, very few people make use of it.
