Ok I have two marron clowns that I have had for some time now. And was wondering how long it takes for them to start laying eggs. The female has been moving sand all over the place specialy around there anemone. Does this mean they are getting ready to lay eggs or what. If I put a tile in there will it help speed up the egg laying? Also if they do start laying eggs I would like to rase the young so what kind of baby tank and equipment do I need to have to take care of the new babys?

Mate all i can say is get a book called CLOWNFISHES by Joyce D. Wilkerson. It tells you all about how to raise different clownfish fry and their needs. I don't know if your clowns are about to lay eggs but you will need a phytoplankton tank, rotiffer tank and brineshrimp tank. Youll need to feed the phyto to your rottis and feed the rottis to your baby fry. Dude get the book. Im only 16 and I learnt alot from this book and hopefully soon Ill be rearing my own fry.
