Help with my Anenome

Hello all,

I recently got a Purple Tip Anenome. When I was putting him in the tank, my darn tunze blew him out of my hand into a somewhat awkward crevice.

I am wondering, will he make his own way to his spot of preference in my tank, or do I need to tear down my rockwork to get him? He has made his way on the outside of the rock and is now tucked neatly into a ball. I have seen him open up several times, but he also closes several times. Just fed him half a silver side.

My main question is, do I need to move him to an area with more light, or will he move on his own? Hes on the side of a lower rock, and it doesnt get 100% light, but it still gets a decent amount.

Thanks for the answers and sorry for being a noob!

he'll find his way to a preferred location. The only time I move my anemones is when they're getting too close to a powerhead or a nice piece of coral I don't want them near.

Once he feels safe he will start to move to the light... If he wants more light, he may be perfectly happy with the amount he is getting right now.. Yes you can break your whole tank down and move him, but he may move on his own EITHER way..

Give him a month to settle in..
If he is unhappy he will move to where he is happy

Ya it will usually just stay there if it likes that spot and moves if it doesn't like that spot. I got that type of anemone but It only lasted 1 week but my other purple tip is very nice looking and healthy.

Thanks for the re-assurance guys. This is my first time and I spared no expense, but I tend to get a little paranoid and try to make sure they live a good life in my tank :)

He already ate half a silverside a few days ago so I know he's eating. (or she).

My father said its typical to feed once a week, is that the general consensus?

Thanks -- and I love this forum!
