Hey guys I'm looking to start a pico tank around the 2-3 gallon range. I've looked around for a tank and seen a few but what are you guys opinions on the size of tank I'm looking to build. Going really SlOW for this build. Should I do an AIO or a tank with a hang on filter?

Looking to learn about the smaller critters and fine tune my water skills and lighting skills.

Few I have seen....

I have a 5 gallon reef and I think that's probably the smallest I'd go. Smaller than that would limit the kinds of corals I can put in there. Ha, I know. Can't really do much in a 5 gallon too right? You should see my little reef!

Yeah think I have settled for a 12x12x12, that's a 7.5 gallon. but I have some idea's I'm going to try. AC70 modded with floss and chemi-pure blue and a hidden chaeto reactor in the stand. Softy pest tank only, no fish on the list currently.

I had an Eheim Aquastyle 4 gal sitting dry so I decided to give pico a try back around Thanksgiving. It is about 9.5in square. Put an AC70 on the back with biomedia in it. Currently, have a paly, zoa, small hammer, and a galaxea in it doing well.

That's what My LFS is ordering me but in the 12 inch cube. Should have something going in a few weeks, I have a few more things to get done in front of this project :)
