Pump broke last night and rather then just order a replacement hy-7000, I would love to upgrade to more flow and better control. However whatever I go with needs to use the same size union and thread. I am not going to be able to change the plumbing side union.

I would like to go to the Vectra M2. Both pumps show 1 1/4" inlet, 1" outlet.

Does anyone know if the plumbing side union from the hy-7000 will fit the M2 pump?

Thanks!

The WaterBlaster HY-7000 is essentially the exact same Askoll motor block pump as the Fluval SP4. Though the input plumbing is different, the output union looks to be exactly the same. The Fluval is offered at a much nicer price point as well. :)

Just in case anyone else ever runs into this.......

So I can with certainty that they are indeed different sizes. I can also say I was unable to locate the same size from the hardware store to make a adapter from one to the other. So I had to bite the bullet and redo all the plumbing.

So far I am liking the M2. I have it running at 75%ish and it is a lot more flow then the old pump.
