I just got my Octopus NW-110 skimmer in the mail this week. I came with instructions that were lackluster to say the least. I can't seem to figure out how to put this thing together.

This is as far as got from the instructions that came with it.
Does the intake for the skimmer just sit over the output for the pump? Or am I missing something to connect them together? I set it up in a basin with the intake just seting on top of the pump and it worked the water flowed through and out the skimmer output (weakly) but water and bubles were coming out of the connection between the skimmer intake and pump output because the conection was so loose.
What are these for?
