Hi Roger well i got an osmolator universal 2155 for christmas i set it up and it fills my last chamber in my sump REALLY high i mean like t the point of where if i let it go it would trip the float switch and make it stop pumping water.

when i unplug it and plug it back in it says its at the level line on the controller, but it pumps water? or it will switch really quick to say "pump on" even though the main sensro is under water!

i attached some pics of how i set it up so you could help me out!

i did change one thing, i had to cut away at the holder that holds the laser censor, when i went to turn it into place, the censor would not point staright it would point off the the side so i cut some of the holder away to make it turn more so the censor would point staright like this l it was point like this ---- i needed it to point up and down like this, l i can put it back if it did it wrong? but it would hit my skimmer if i left it like that?

anyway heres the pic let me knwo what you think,

on the last page the first picture you can see water is clearly over the censor, but water is still being pumped into the sump?

anyway here are some more,

here it is out of the the water so you can see it set up, you can see the float switch in this pic

heres the censor and you can see how i moved it to be up and down, coudl this be a problem? if so i can move it back?

alright Roger those are all the pics, what should i do? shoudl i move the censor back to the original postion? or leave it how i modified it? basically shoudl i turn it back to how it comes out of the box? or shoudl i leav it the way i moved it?

or what should i do for that matter?

thanks!

Nick

First, a new sensor often gets air bubbles stuck to it. Plastic is hydrophobic "water fearing" it repels water and this causes air to cling to it. This can be resolved if you rinse it with hot soapy water, just as hot as you can comfortably wash your hands with. Then dry it with a soft cloth or paper towel and try again. Also, make sure the hose is above the reservoir, it should be pumping up to your tank and not down to the sump, if the sump is at a level below the reservoir even after the pump cuts off water will continue to siphon. I don't really see anything wrong with your set up but the pictures are dark and I don't fully understand what is happening.

i will try the washing thing,

SO i should have it pump water to the tank? i guess the water will evenutally get to the last compartment where the sump is correct?

so have it go to my tank? and then i guess it will get water down intot he sump where the osmaltor censor is right?

do you see a problem with putting the black tubing up to the main tank? and then just have the osmolator where it is now? will water catch up quick enough? do you see a problem doing this?

does it matter that i modified it like i did? by saving off some plastic to gett he censor to where i want it?

so basically wash it off with soapy water hot soapy water, then put the balck tubing up to the main tank? i think it might be siphionng like you say! so put the black tubing to the main tank? right? will there be propblems with the censor, i mean it will take longer for the water to get to the sump area where the osmolator is?

thanks!

Nick

Roger, anyway I cleaned it and moved the black tubing up to the main tank, anyway the pump is being activated even when the sensor is under water, I mean completely submerged, like there is water all the way covering it? What should I do? It just keeps pumping water until the float switch triggers the alarm? Whats going on?

Does it have something to do with how I modified it? Should I put it back the way it was? I mean turn it back so the laser will be pointing at my skimmer?

Anythoughts Roger I am stupmed? The pump is being triggered even when water is completely covering it? Whats going on? Should I turn the sensor back to how it came? Even though the sensor will be pointing at the skimmer?

Any thoughts Roger?

Thanks!

Nick

ok well i tried it again, and it was working, but when the water got low again, the sensor triggred the pump and it DID NOT STOP PUMPING i checked on it and had to shut it off becasue it filled it WAY above the sensor, it was about 2-3 inches over the sensor? and was about to trigger the saftey float switch?

whats going on? why is it not shutting the pump off after filling it up to get the sensor just barley submerged?

i cleaned the censor with HOT sopay water then rinsed in regular water then dried with a cotton ball, i then moved the black line that comes out of the pump to the top or main tank?

so whats going on?

is there a number i can call you at or something? this doesnt make any sense?

thanks!

Nick

What do you mean when you say you modified it? It should just point straight down. If it is touching something or bubbles are rising up from the skimmer and clinging to the sesnor it won't work properly.
