Help with Osmolator

Roger,

The water sensor does not seem to be working. I take the unit out of the sump and stand it up vertically. The sensor is about 2-3 inches away from the high-water sensor. I turn the unit on, the low water light turns on for 1 second and then the green level light turns on.

I do not have magnetic interference from ballasts or pumps. I've moved the unit around to make sure. There are no bubbles as it doesn't even work when completely out of the water.

Is there a way to replace this sensor? What could be wrong with it. It is about 1 year old.

Thanks.

Does it pump water- it is normal for the lights to come on for a few seconds. This is part of the programming. When the sensor first detects water it allows the pump to run 8 seconds. It waits 2-3 seconds after detecting no water to turn on the pump. The LED readout you describe is perfectly normal on start up.

No, it doesn't pump water. I lifted the sensor out of the water to test it. The sensor is not turning on.

Even after a few seconds? Is the transformer set to 9-12V. If you like you can send it to me and I will look at it but odds are quite slim something is wrong. New plastic can form a miniscus of air, conversely the drop of water can stick to it. My advice is to leave it alone to run and see how it keeps up. If after a week it isn't toping off normally send it to me but broken Osmolators are extremely rare.
