Help with outbreak of Brook

Hello fellow reefers,

I've had a outbreak of Brook in my tank, killing all my fish but the Puffer and a yellow tang. I've read about the formalin bath and will try it but how about the parasite thats in the tank won't the fish be reinfected once I put them back in the tank?

Thanks,
Sue

Same here, Started with a B&W clown I added to the tank, it developed a very thick slime coating and died within 3 days, then it spread to my female Ocellaris. I removed her and gave a dip(1.008sg) for about 45 mins and put her back. The next day she seemed much better, her skin cleared and she was swimming around and eating again. Then it hit my granma, I fouled up my chance to catch her and she got away and hid. She died after 2 days if infection. Now my clown seems as though she's taken a turn for the worse. The thing is, I rushed out and got some Formalin(37%) to treat them but after my clown "seemed" to get better I wasn't sure that it was Brook and I didn't want to do more harm than good by treating for the wrong disease.
Now I'm worried about my other fish who seem unaffected. Once you tank is infected does it stay that way? Do I have to worry about any future additions who are otherwise healthy to contract this beacuse MY tank infected them? I really want to save my clown but I don't expect her to survive a formalin bath.
