Over the past few days ive noticed my squamosa clam re-seeding itself due to pyramid snails now i have had this clam since last summer not saying who i got it from but i checked it and it had them on it when i recieved it too i had treated it for a while and thought i got rid of all the snails but today proved wrong. Today unfortuanly i lost my squamosa when doing a water change i was checking it out and the whole thing was covered down in prymaid snails and eggs being dead i removed the clams shell out of the water and removed all the sanils and eggs as well...but on the other hand my crocea hasnt had any on it at all....what should i do to prevent future mishaps from these stupid little snails?

If i remove the sand out of thetank and clean it and put it back in will i help prevent them since i know the come out at night and hide in the sand during the day?

Any help would be excellent right now!

Thanks!

I always had luck when I kept clams (do not have any now...) with a 6-line wrasse (or some have tried and used a similar species I hear...), and I also manually removed them as well if needed.

I only ever lost 1 clam, and that was due to a shorted powerhead - the rest always outgrew the tank and were traded in. Good luck!
