I have a pyramid butterly in QT that has severe popeye in both eyes. Also it seems as though its swim bladder is partially affected because it stays at the top of the water. Although if it is startled it can swim to the bottom. Here is my question: from what I could find out elsewhere on the internet (which was not much ) it is bacterial in origin. I was wondering what would be the best medication for this. If anyone has had experence with this please chime in. Thanks.

I'm curious as well. I have a pajama cardinal in my main display that has a huge swollen eye. Hopefully it'll go away on its own.

We cant tell you much if you dont post water parameters. From my experience "pop eye" occurs when water conditions are instable (ammonia, ph, nitrate). MY blue regal would pop an eye everytime my PH was off then when I fixed it she would recover.

Bacterial infection. Move to QT and start treatment with an antiobiotic like minocycline (maracyn 2), tetracycline or sulfathiozole (in Triple Sulfa).
