Hi there,
I am new to this so any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a breeding pair of striped damselfish which I have placed in seperate small tank so they can lay eggs undisturbed.

After the eggs hatched I remove the parents and wait 3 days for the eggs to hatch.

But after 2 days of hatching the fry all die

I have been feeding them phytoplankton which is in a powder form and I mix it with water and dump it in every 12 hours or so.

What am I doing wrong?

Please help as I would love to raise the fry.
Thanks All

"After the eggs hatched I remove the parents and wait 3 days for the eggs to hatch."

After the eggs hatched you removed the parents and waited for the eggs to hatch? Huh?

You mean you removed them after the eggs were laid? I don't know alot about Damsels but I would think you should leave them together until the day of the hatch. Even then you would have to aerate the eggs. I also wouldn't be taking the parents out of the tank. I'd take the eggs and move them somewhere else so as not to disturb the parents so much.

Fish don't eat Phytoplankton. Again I don't know anything about Damsels but I would think a good first food might be Rotifers. You can feed Rotifers the Phytoplankton. I don't know about powdered forms.. I doubt that would work.

I hope this helped some. Good luck and keep us posted.

Damsels are Hard.

You would need some wild plankton and a black round tub. I would remove the eggs and areate them lightly.

Powder form phytoplankton is a big no no. Its just goin to polute the water quickly.
