I have an lr1 calcium reactor that started leaking at the rubber gasket on top what is the best way to fix this. Just wipe and dry and reapply or should I use some lubricant of something.
I lube all my rubber parts with Leslie’s Pool Lube. It’s more or less the same stuff that you get with Plumber’s Grease, except it’s a better value. I can buy a life-time supply of Leslie’s for $7, while a tube of Plumber’s grease (a small tube), is $10 at Home Depot. Whatever you do, don’t use a petroleum based grease, like Vasoline…it will cause the rubber to swell and eventually fail.
