Help with setting up Failsafe

Hi everyone,

Ok so my setup with my profilux 3 is as follows

Main unit with aquarium and probes are plugged into there.

Sump is about 25 Ft away in the basment. I have cat5 run through the floor to allow the P3 to control the PAB.

What im trying to setup is something in the sump to prevent dilution of the aquarium. What has happened is, my protein skimmer went haywire and started just overflowing. Normally this wouldnt be terrible, however, i have my skimmers drain plumbed to go directly to sewer.

Thus draining the sump and causing the ATO ( running off a simple Float switch) to start adding fresh water.

By the time i caught it, due to the noise of pumps grinding due to no water, the salenity had gone down to 1.01 from 1.027

Nothing was lost, but im trying to wrap my head around what would be required as far as sensors, and how to configure the P3 to shut off return pump if chamber a is to low, and to shut off RODI unit, if salenity drops below a certain point.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

lots of options here

1. with GHL float or level switch to control your ATO but set the max on time to no more than 1 minute. then if there is any water loss the system will not be pumped continually with RO

2. add check valve to waste of P-skimmer and have this controlled through the Profilux via a float switch in the lid of the skimmer cup and as with the ATO have max on time set. If you are up to some DIY you could then build mini stand pipe inside skimmer cup that will allow overflow back into the sump
