Help with Sick Hammer

I got this hammer as a CPR frag. I have had the hammer for a couple days now. It is receeded badly and the polyps are not very long.

Here is a picture of it:

Do you think it will make it? What can I do to help its recovery? I tried to feed it formula 1 frozen, but its polyps don't seem to be sticky at all.

There is a possibility it can be saved. It's about a 50/50 chance one it has receeded well over the sides like that.

Just keep trying to feed it as often as you can experimenting with as many different foods and sizes. May also put it in nice gentle flow and indirect light to try to get it to expand more and to keep it from being an algae magnet. Once algae starts to set in on the exposed skeleton it's really difficult to keep it from irritating and gradually receeding further.

Good luck bro .I lost a huge hammer like this one.If you look in my gallery you will see it.Mine went down because of 2 things.
1. A mushroom fell on it
2. A red mythryx crab thought it was a tasty treat.
