help with skimmer

good evening,

my aquaC protein skimmer normally produces ~1 lit of green foul skimmate a week.
recently it barely makes anything. after cleaning the skimmer body, pump and the injector I see lots of foam at the air/water interface , but only very little float all the way up to the collection cup. what else should I be looking for as a possible cause for the decrease in skimmate? its been only a day, so maybe I need to wait a full breal in period, but I would like to consider other possibilities.

It most likely is from the cleaning, give it a few days and it should return to normal provided you reassembled it correctly.

i have a first edition aqua c skimmer, it was was the shizzy when it came out . they are quite effective but the one thing about them thats different from needle wheel skimmers is... they work better if you leave them alone. ie only clean the riser tube and skimmer cup about every ten days or so , cleaning it more often is not a good thing with these skimmers. you will notice your skimate will be almost black. good luck zsu
