Help with some ID's

Usually if you see the nudibranchs in the daytime it is because they are starving and searching for food. They are predominately nocturnal to keep away from predators. If your corals are fine then it probably eats something else. Chances of finding them all are pretty slim as well. It does look like a montipora eating nudi I have battled though. Look for bare spots on the bottom of the monti and any small white clusters of eggs.

Ok, thanks... but what do I do if I find them/eggs on the monti? It is on a rock that I can easily take out of the tank - can I scrape them off with a razor blade? Dip the coral? Probably easier to deal with now than when in the DT.

Dips will not kill the eggs. Manual removal is necessary. If you have damage to the monti the eggs can be anywhere in qt on any of the rocks. It is not going to make you happy but keep the monti in qt after you move the rock to the display. Weekly scrubbing and dips will be necessary to kill everything for a few weeks. The ones on the other rocks will make it into the display but the nudibranchs are specific feeders meaning that if they eat montis they will starve in the display. Once they starve and the monti is clean you can move it to the display.

Thanks for the advice... I will keep the monti in QT for a while. I found that little guy on my monti when I got home yesterday, so it was removed and disposed of. I can't tell if it has done damage or not - I'll just keep looking for more of them in the QT and remove them.

Finally got my DT up and cycling! I started a build thread:

Things are going well and it's already processing ammonia, I'm guessing because I moved over most of the sand from this QT and about 1/3 of the rock. Anyway, thanks for the advice so far... check out my build thread!
