Help with sump placement

What's up everyone?

I'm very new to this. I've been wanting to set up for awhile now. I'm finally making moves. Anyways. I recently got a 75gallon tank and I'm trying to figure out sump placement. The only thing is my stand has a space of 25" length. 15.8"height. 17" depth. I was wondering if it is possible to get my sump and protein skimmer in that location. I can modify my stand but the wife doesn't want to see the sump or anything else for that matter. Thanks.

Custom sump or get measurements and compare to the size/specs of the equipment you want to run (return pump, skimmer, etc.).

You need to figure out your equipment in order to answer that ? Check out eshopps skimmers, they have a small footprint comparatively

Is the stand even big enough for the display tank itself?

IMO build a custom stand big enough to use a 40b tank for a sump (assuming you want to go the DIY route) or check out the available premade sumps and plan accordingly..

15.8" height for a skimmer is going to be your most limiting factor, especially for a 75 gallon tank. My BM Curve 5 is at least 16" tall and it's one of the smaller skimmers out there for a tank your size.

Thanks for all the advice. I'm actually gonna have to install and over flow box into the sump. I plan on just putting up a curtain under my stand so the wife doesn't say any words about seeing the set up.

I cant help but rethink about those sizes, is that really the inside of your stand size or the door ripening? Something just isn't adding up.

Yeah it's the size my stand has a compartment with doors and than 2 shelves around it. The wife said I can only put the equipment where she can't see it. That's why I'm in such a struggle looking to find alternate placement. So I think I'll have to add a small stand next to my original stand and have the sump underneath that one.

Lol can you cheat it and put it In a corner of the room with the tank at a 45 nd then use the extra hidden triangular space behind it all.

I wanted to gut it but worried it would take away from being able to hold the weight of my tank. The wife got it for me and I can't scrap it without feeling bad. I've been talking to a few people. I decided to try running sumpless for a few months and than once the wife realizes how cool and interesting it will be upgrade later on this year. So I order a filter for 110+ gallon tank and I'm also going to to a hob skimmer for filitration.
