--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In order for us to provide the best possible help, please provide the following information. It will really help us and it will be information we need.

1. How old is this aquarium?
Upgraded 2 year old tank two weeks ago from a 55 to a 100 gal. Used water from existing tank plus new salt water.

Added some fish on Saturday, four small chromis and a bicolor. I have a coral beauty that was attacking the new bicolor and bicolor ended up dead. I can only find two of the chromis now.

5. Was it quarantined? If so, how? And how long? Was it prophylactically treated? How?
Was not qtd

6. If you are using a copper based medication, which one? How often do you measure level? When?
No treatment yet

7. If you are using hyposalinity, how did you calibrate your refractometer?
No treatment yet

8. Please describe in detail, the appearance of the fish? If there is one or more pimples, are they lumpy? What color?
Please see attached picture

9. Please describe the behavior of the fish as best you can. Is it acting reclusive? Is it always up towards the top of the aquarium? Is it avoiding light? How active is the fish?

have you tested water for ammonia since then? sounds like your last test was prior to adding a few fish? If so, ammonia could very well have gone up since then.

Note that bacteria will not transfer over just by bringing over water. Did you transfer over any live rock from the 55 to 100?

I transferred all my live rock and stock. I have not had water tested since then but I will have it checked as soon as lfs opens.

good idea to do, as ruling out ammonia is going to be crucial.

it is a wise investment to get yourself an ammonia testkit of your own. pretty much any brand will do just fine. API, etc. Also get some Prime or AmQuel, or other ammonia detoxifier product to have on hand.

Hard to tell on the Tang whether it is ammonia burn or stress, but I am thinking it looks more like stress. Keep the lights off and keeping away from the tank a couple days will help. If it is ammonia, possibly the MIA chromis are the cause of it.

Is there a certain time of day he is doing this?

I noticed it first last night and this morning it was worse so I really can't say. There have been too many changes so stress could certainly explain it. Changed the tank two weeks ago, added livestock and 1 piece of rock on Saturday along with changing my T-5's to LED's.

just had the water tested, no ammonia and water tested good for nitrates and nitrites. Fish ended up dying though. I appreciate all the help. The lfs guy said he couldn't tell by looking at him and he thought the water might tell him something but it checked out ok so unless it cleared up quickly (which I guess it could), it was probably something else. Hopefully other fish turn out ok. None of the others show any symptoms yet.
