Help with white spots on Clownfish

Over the past month or so, I have noticed that my percula clown has these white spots near the head and tail. The clown decided to make the frogspawn its home and has been defending its spot and sleeping between the heads of frogspawn. Every once and a while, I see the clown rub its face/body on the sand briefly. It has been eating normally and otherwise looks healthy.

I have one other fish in the tank (Flame Angel) that has no visible signs of any white specks like the clown. Could the frogspawn be stinging the clown at night or does this look more like ich to you?

When I see irritation from stinging corals, it is usually darkish spots. However, check this thread.

Funny you reference that thread, I was just checking out that thread before posting this. Should I put the clown in the QT tank and see if the white spots go away?

I've had saddleback clowns develop smudgy looking white spots when acclimating to a new anemone. It looked like faded paint on an old car. It eventually went away. The OP's picture looks more like an ulceration.

Was the clownfish quarantined?

I've had the clown for 2 years. I don't really have the money or space for a QT tank, so I have to take my chances. I'm going to do dips for all new fish and coral from now on just as some attempt to kill any unwanted critters. Should I keep an eye in it to see if it gets worse or just buy a 10 gal QT? The problem is I don't know what it is so don't know what kind of medicine to buy.
