Help with Zoanthids

RC Anemone

Hello, today I just purchased a colony of Zoanthids (I think they are) and I don't know how to attach them. When the flowery parts are not extended the whole thing looks like a small football with fingers all over. It kept blowing around the tank so I just partially buried it. Is this okay? Some of the "fingers" are in the sand and now it looks like it is getting ready to start rolling around the tank at any minute. How are you supposed to place these in your tank? Are you supposed to attach the whole ball to a rock first? Sorry for the stupid questions, but this is my first experience with corals. Thank you very much for your help, I really do appreciate it.

Ball of zoanthids? Are they attached to anything? They will grow with a "mat" that you can actually super-glue to a rock of any size. And yes you can glue underwater. When I got mine I had a small (2"x4") piece of rubble that I superglued a mat to with about 10 polyps (the fingers are polyps). Glue and hold for 30 seconds or so, then stick back in the water in a protected spot. An hour later I moved mine to the sand on my tank with medium flow. They should open up with 24-48 hours.

Oh, zoanthids are toxic. Wear gloves and wash your hands after.

Here is a pic of mine, grown out a bit.
