Help Yellow Tang!

As some of you know I bought a Yellow Tang last week. I was worried that he wasn't eating, but these last couple days he's less shy, eats nori, and sometimes the bits of frozen food I drop in.

This morning I noticed little brown specks on him that weren't there before. He's still swimming like usual and eating.

What is this? Is it normal?

And if it's bad can it spread to the tank mates?

All 3 of my YT from Exotic also got the little brown spots (like ich, but brown) and it went away after a week or so. No problems yet:)

So I shouldn't freak out and try and catch him? Mine is from Exotic as well. He developed it last night or this morning. How long did it take to go away?

Mine is from exotic as well, got her about a week and a half ago. Also had the little brown spots, they are going away now though.

Generally speaking, if it is bad it can spread, which is why you REALLY should setup a quarantine in the future for every fish you buy. Please listen to the talk from Kelly Jetdlicki (sp?) at our Jan 08 meeting.

Now, to be helpful today. If you can easily catch the yellow and QT it by itself you *should* be able to reduce the chance of spreading the disease/parasite.

If you can't, then feed heavily, use garlic, do some reading, cross your fingers and wait it out.

Oh, Kelly said that you can expect every tang you get from a LFS to have a disease or parasite, so QT!

If eating i would just like others have said add garlic plus some selcon and vita-chem if possible and up its feedings if possible. Should pull through.
