Shouldn't spread, it's physical damage. Most healthy montipora would regrow over those spots fairly quickly I would think. In a week or so you should be back to normal.

I'm assuming you already turkey basted the salt off, after that there isn't much you can do but wait.

ok so it shouldnt bleach its self and yes i pointed a power head at it for 10 min what abt shootin som iodine on it

i kno but i had a frag tht was like 5x5 inches tht completely bleached its self for no reason a month ago i went and tested the water instantly and nothing was wrong with it and these are my mother colonies so i want to make sure they live

Maybe a brown gel bacterium? When it was bleaching did part of it have a brown gel like substance where the tissue was coming off? Otherwise maybe a ph swing or alk spike? But if your current caps are healthy and water quality is good you shouldn't have any problems.

no i didnt see any thing even the pieces i tried to save melted off it was so weird ive had bleachin on a frag b4 but never had the peices i tried to salvage disinergrate another thng is i had 2 smaller frags next to it and they had no problems corals are so unpredictable
