Help!!

MY Reef Octopus BH 100 Hang on Back Protein Skimmer was getting cleaned today and when i went to turn it back on the needle whell impeller will only move if you budge it i need this problem fixed ASAP PLEASE! The needle whell will not move unless messed with and it wont move when plugged in any thought? Thanks!

Is there any scale build up inside of pump? If so a vinagar bath should help. Is the shaft showing signs of corrosion, scaling or failure?

We took it apart there was no build up inside or anything...it jsut wont start up basically. Itll go for a few seconds then stop is ther any other pump i can buy to hook up to it?

Call the company you bought it fom and see if it is still under warranty. If not call manufactorer and ask them if they can help you....:thumbsup:

Mine skimmer pump sometimes sticks on a start up, a bump or shake will start it.

I've had them stick when they run without water.

Check the impeller shaft for wear. With my larger ocopus this was rumored to cause startup issues. The other rumor with that is that you can replace it with a carbon fiber shaft from and RC store cut to size.

Did the pump get run dry?
