I have a Canon Powershot SX100 and was wondering if anyone could give me some tips to try to get some decent pics with this camera. I know its not the best camera but I was hoping to at least be able to get some closeups of my corals and fish. Thanks

Someone told me today that my chances of shooting any good pics with this camera is not going to happen, I've been told the rebel with the right lense would to a good job with breaking the bank. Looking to see what people with photography expirence have to say. Thanks in advance for the help.

Ok, I'll give you my opinion. You probably might be able to take good full tank shots. They may look a bit blue depending on your light and the white balance of the camera. I know nothing about the camera so I can't help with setting them.

That being said, close ups "may" never happen. If you're looking at a DSLR, that "will" work with a macro lens. Read the stickies at the top of this forum. That should help.
