Help!

Hi, this is my first post.

I have a coco worm who has seemed to lose his heads. There is still a little nubby thing that sticks it's head out, and jumps back in the tube whenever I get close. It was beautiful, but still seems to be alive.

My aquarium is a 92 gallon All Glass corner unit, with a custom canopy and 400w MH light. This is my first time trying saltwater, it has only been established for three months. There have been many difficulties, to say the least.

Thank you for any suggestions,

Warren

They will drop their crowns when stressed, from predation or water quality fluctuations. Some shrimp, flamehawks, and even curious tangs may do damage. Keep track of your salinity and ph to be sure they're steady.

Thank you for your replies. No Eric the only shrimp I have are two Scarlet Skunks, who are very happy and molting often. Tebstan I had some issues with salinity levels when my sump valve from the RO filter wouldn't close and extra freshwater flooded the system. I caught up by adding extra salt in the next couple of water changes. Can't say my new system has been terribly stable thus far. I've also had lighting changes, started with LED and gave up on that after the quick loss of two clams went to a 400w metal halide.

Now everything is reeling from the extra light. The water quality has always tested beautifully, with no detectable nitrites or nitrates. The "nub" of the coco worm is quite responsive, I can't imagine how he sees me, but he darts back into his tube when I approach the tank. It is hanging outside the tube seeming to try and catch the light. Hope it can recover.

Thanks again!
Warren
