okay, so most of my zoos are closing... my sps doesnt look so well, a couple tips of the acros are bleaching... my clove polyps arent openeing up fully, candy cane's not doin so well, my caps are bleaching, my mushrooms arent opening fully they're staying small, my LPS isnt doing so well. u guys get the point, i mean my CHEATO looks dehydrated, super dark green, like its dying. WTH!!!!

basically everything is deteriorating except my fish. shrimps / snails doing fine.

what the hell hapepend? i did a 15 gallon water change on a 55 total.

param's

Nitrate = 0-1
Nitrite = 0-1
Ammonia = 0
pH = 8.2
Temp = 78 stable (but for the longest time it was 80... so today i upped the temp a little, waiting for it to go back up to 80)

maybe some dust fell in the tank? (open top tank, but its been like this for months) maybe i put my hand in w/o washing it? (probably this, so i did the 15 gallon water change yesteray) i fragged some zoos and cut a few of them in the tank, but i dunno.

HELP PLEASE!!

Was the salinity right with your water change water? I would first suspect the water since that was the biggest change. As far as fragging in the tank Ive been told it can be a bad thing and stir up some pretty nasty chemical wars but Ive never done it so cant confirm. I would say check the water again to ensure you arent getting bad readings from the kit, Check phosphates as well. If the tank is rather new could be a cycle or mini cycle. Then again im no pro, hopefully someone else will pop in with some more things to check, good luck

mine is doing the exact same thing...I changed bulbs and it seems to be getting a little better s l o w l y....i'm also having som algea issues that are on top of everuthing else.

He has another thread going.

As said on that thread you need to:
1. get a reliable means of testing your salinity
2. get a reliable calcium test kit and test
3. get a reliable alkalinity test kit and test.

Once you get these tested you can then work on getting them to correct levels and then keep them there which takes testing and practice until you get the hang of dosing something like b-ionic and or kalk.
Keeping up on water changes using good RO'DI water will do wonders.

WOW! Thats some real problem. Hows your lighting? Is your system grounded? Have you checked for phospate? Are you also having algae problems? What type of water do you use?

i use ro/di water to top off, but i found out my alk was too low, so i added some buffer, until tomorrow i go get some baking soda to add.
