Help!

I have some symptoms that I need help diagnosing for my obivously unhealthy tank. We have had a 29 gallon biocube, which has been setup for about 9 months. FOWLR. We have coraline algae, hair algae, and pods like crazy.

Our first fish was a damsel, a mean one. She was our only fish for awhile, as she was way to mean to subject any other fish to.

Our LFS sold us an RO filter unit, which we figured would be cheaper than buying water in the long run. After we used the filter and did a few water changes, our damsel got sick. Her eyes looked funny, looked a bit like pop-eye. Sadly she died a few days later.

We went about 4 weeks without a fish in there, just our snails which to this day happily clean our sandbed. We then decided to get a nice peaceful algae blenny, as we have lots for him to feast on, and he will play nice with a few other small fish.

We brought him home last night from our LFS, acclimated him and he seemed ok. However today i swing by home to check up on him and he died! Same symptoms as the damsel.

We have had the LFS check our water numerous times, and they always say it is fine. (they did give us a PH buffer to use with the new filter we got as they said it was low at one point.)

The only change we have had is that we are now using an RO filter attached to our sink as opposed to the RO filtered water from the grocery store. Would that be it?! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

An RO filter unit should not have any adverse impact on your aquarium or fish.

Pop eye is usally a bacterial issue often resulting from an eye injury usually sustained during the capture process (netting). It rarely results in quick death and often the fish's own immune system will fix the problem.

No quick answer ... double check your water temp, salinity etc and you might consider a series of large water changes before you add another fish.

What would help is a list of parameters:
PH
Temp
Salinity
Nitrate
Ammonia
Nitrite
And Alkalinity would be nice to know.
