Need some answers. I purchased (2) 6200 from Champion Lighting 12/22/06. Several months later (2) more. The first (2) quit working a couple months ago. Within 2 weeks of each other. Nothing I could do would work, frustrated I put them in a bucket of water. Like a fool I went out and purchased (2) new 6201 at the low cost of 505.00 each.. Last night I noticed one of them had quit working.

Why will a 505.00 pump quit when I have a 22.00 1140 penguin running my reactor feed for 2 1/2 years????

Not a Happy Camper...

Did you ever send me those other two pumps for repair? They have a two year warranty. Without seeing the pumps it is difficult for me to know what is the culprit of these problems but this is not the norm.

Tell me where to send them, now I can send (3) of the (6) don't work. Includes one that's been running less than a month. Heck I'll even pay to have them fixed. I've already forked out over 3,000.00 for them...

Calm down, they have a warranty that we fully honor. The only thing that is not covered are modifications and water damage to the electronics. Just send them in and we will fix them quickly.

If the transformers have no obvious defects and run your other pumps I don't need them.

Roger, please make my x-mas a glorious one by denying this guy's warranty

I doubt Roger will do that, unless it was negligence that killed those pumps. Instead, I bet you see a post from Ricks about how great Roger was at helping him and how happy he is with the service.

I also understand whats its like to be frustrated because something doesn't work right. Maybe it wasn't the best way to handle it, but its too late now. I think enough of us jumped in with our positive experiences, that no harm was done. Its times when someone shows displeasure with a product and no one disagrees that I would worry!

This comment was uncalled for! He was just stating the problems he had with 3 out of his 6 pumps. He was civil and the problem has been addressed and is being taken care of. No need for re marks like this.

I wouldn't call a thread title of "Tunze SUCK!!!!" exactly civil.

He was obviously upset and venting. I have no doubt Roger will take care of him like he always does.

As he should do when one spends in excess of $3,000 on their products only to have 50% fail within a few months. That would make me a wee bit edgy as well.

WOW... I was unaware of the interest this would generate....

Maybe I was a little harse on Tunze..

Roger, from your responses seems to be a stand up guy...

You all have to understand my SPS has grow to need extra flow and when half the pumps don't work I can be in for trouble.... Not only the cost of pumps but thousands and the tender time it takes to grow a frag to a 20" tall colony..

Trouzer Trout,

I'm entitled to my opinion, and thou heated I didn't state anything that was untrue. Why am I entitled, because I invested over 3,000.00 in Tunze's products. You chime in with your opinion with no given right to do so... You shouldn't stick your trout where it doesn't belong....

As I stated above I would be happy to pay for the repairers if needed. I just need to get the pumps working. I might even buy another set till these get fixed. I always preach about having backup equipment...

Thanks All, Rick

what a moron.....

make my x-mas a good one and go k___ yourself :smokin:

Go k___ myself? Are you 5? Since you're a tool, you must feel comfy going to school for tool and die. But I digress. Let's stay focused now. This is a friggin fish forum and was just having a little fun. I guess if I attached a cute smiley face, you wouldn't have gotten all riled up.
Now, to the point. Roger has tripped over himself to address any issue that I have ever had. Tunze and IceCap are the best when it comes to customer service and they know it. This "I bought a Ferrari and it better not break down" 'tude that some have is absurd.
Merry x-mas, Happy Kwanza, Festivus for the rest of us.

I never thought I'd read a thread in a sponsor forum that needed closed. We've got people telling others to kill themselves, we've got people calling others morons, we've got people telling vendors to deny warranties.

I must admit, I would be a bit beefed if I bought an expensive product that didn't work. I'm sure it's happened to many of us before. Having never been able to afford tunze products, I can't relate to this particular instance, but it does seem that the customer service is next to none.

At this point the best thing that can happen is Ricks gets his pumps fixed, and then feels bad for the way he went about displaying his dissatisfaction.

Maybe a more appropriately titled thread would've been "Tunze Help". Also, I had never heard of Roger either until this point.
