I began uploading the 3.07 firmare. I got an error message on my screen and now my Profilux is blank.

WHAT DO I DO?

I tried rebooting, still blank.

You will need to do a manual firmware reload if you have corrupted the Fware

Do you know what a computer jumper is? (http://www.neonixie.com/store/images/2pinset.jpg)

If so FOLOW all the instructions on page 65 and 66. dont pay to much importance at the picture as it is not realy clear....
I had the same problem with mine and it worked like a charm!

What version of software where you using?

if not I would send the unit back to Matthias or Michael for a reflash :c)

I just loaded 3.08.
Where do I get the fmc sip file?
Can I just use a small wire for a jumper to short circuit the pnis?

But for everyone else, the recovery software is downloadable from the GHL website as stated in the instructions in the manual.

The firmware file is the same (AllProfiLuxII_V308.mhx)... for a jumper I would not risk it... i'm sure you have one of those at home... do you have a computer at home? (not a laptop) if so open up the case and you will be able to locate one in the back of the CDROM or the Hardrive... or just run by a compuer shop and they will give you one :c)

I can't figure out what pins to jump.
My controller looks similar to the pic, but I can't make out where the jumper is.
This is NOT a simple process

Is the jumper the ORANGE thing in the manual picture?

No it's not... it's really easy but I dont find that the instruction are really clear :c)

On the front board (PCB) there is a ribbon clable, netx to it you will see 4 little peices of stiff wires (these are called headers).

Now you have to put a jumper on the 2 top one (the 2 that are closes to the edge of the PCB) in order "link" or close the 2.

Is that more clear? if not when I get home I can take a clear photo of the area with the jumper inserted.

Michael, the manual is relatively clear, once you find the pins to jump. The picture needs to be clearer, perhaps a diagram would be better and more explanatory. And maybe include a jumper in the main box, JUST IN CASE...

Christian, thank you for your help. Until you find it, the pins are difficult to find, esp looking at the picture.

Yes, it will. That picture is too unclear -- and I have it printed in color. I can't imagine what a BW pic would look like.
