i posted this same thread in the clown anenome forum but im gonna also do it here cause i need all the help i can get ..

alright, im starting to worry. As i posted earlier this week that one of my clown was getting this white slimy coat right near his upper fin.. Now its starting to spread all over , including his face. What do I do ? I was trying to take a picture of the guy but he's swims too fast and won't be still, I even tried tricking him with food, no luck. Can someone tellme me what that white nasty slimy coat maybe? I purchased them in a pair and the other one is fine. Do i take him back to the LFS that i got him from. Its only been a week since i got them?

It could be Brooklynella, a very common disease in wild-caught clownfish that gives the fish a slimy appearance. If it is Brooklynella, it is best treated with formalin.
