I have some hair algae coming up in a tank where I'm letting two Caulerpa species take over. Any ideas, other than manual removal and hermits, of how I can help control/eliminate it's growth without hurting the Caulerpas?
I suggest reducing the photo period and perhaps upping the color spectrum towards the white/blue end and less in the red/yellow.
Red/yellow is good for all macros -- but hair algae can outcompete in it. Also let the caulerpa grow over it and remove those vines that can pull up the bad stuff.
