can i use herbtana while still dosing for things like raising my calcium an Alk as i have had some low levels lately or should i wait for everything to level off first?

You can indeed dose alk and CA while dosing herbtana. No Carbon, GFO, or other filtration type of chemical should be used while dosing herbtana (skimmer off too).

They are notorious for ich and you really should quarantine them for several weeks before putting them in your tank if you can.

Could somebody fill me in about Herbtana? I've heard from a few people about it, but haven't had time to look it up. I do know it its some sort of herbal immunostimulant. But I was just curious because I haven't seen what's in it or what the results were.

Yes..it is a naturla treatment for ich and many other ailments. It is reef safe, invertabrate friendly treatment made by Microbe0Lift. I still use a QT tank so I don;t run through it in my 180 for 1 fish, but it has worked successfully for me and better than any copper based solution I have used in the past years.

so i used as directed for 10 days and still have the ich. should i continue to use? i havent seen any ill effect on the corals other than just ****ing them off when i first put it in the tank. should i try to QT them and use something stronger. could i put a hippo and sailfin in an empty 25 bio together for a short time? both fish are active and aggresively eating. any help appreciatted.

If it's a bad infestation then it states you may need to go longer. It took me on average 10-12 days..but I noticed improvement all along. Have you noticed any improvement, and are you using daily as directed?

I use a QT tank because carbon and skimming should be off while treating the tank.

Just used herbtana for the first time. I used it for 3 days on my reef. I finally paid the price for not doing a QT. My purple tang brought it in the tank, and then my foxface and neon goby started showing signs. On the down side it made my lps look like crap so I did a water change and turned my skimmer back on. But..... after only 3 days of treatment all the fish are symptom free for over a week now. I dont know if Im in the clear but only time will tell.

How interesting.... I will have to try it next time.... I used to treat with oceans nutrition formula 2 frozen food. It work like a charm everytime until they changed the formula.... It no longer works like it used to...
