Here it is at last, my new tank build thread!!!

We got to Georges about 1:15 and the tank was in around 4 or so

80% of the time was at Georges as we put his tank downstairs at the same time, well, not the same time, I mean there wouldnt be enough room in the stairs right? his was after mine :D

His should of went down pretty easy. I moved it to my basement with only 4 guys and we slid it down the stairs. Glad to hear everything went smoth.

Yup, kinda sorta anyway:

Nice small tank, I hope that is your sump ahaha j/k. Looks really good, sorry I couldn't help (out of town). I can't wait to see your progress, and if there is something I can help with, let me know

I wanted Griss' old acrylic tank to use as a sump for my 375g and 470g tanks, but he wanted too much $$$ for my blood.

Now that new glass refugium he got from Lonnie looks mighty fine!

Plumbing almost done! Pump should be here tomorrow and hopefully I can do a tank fill next week.

Looking for critics and ideas for the next part. What would be the best way to hook the skimmer into the system. The pump is sitting below the skimmer right now and it was suggested to drill into the side of the sump or could I take a feed from the end of the 4" pipe and drop it over the edge to the skimmer pump feed. Only thing I can think of is maybe not enough water would make it to the end to feed the pump. Dont like the idea of drilling the sump but may be the only way

Anyway, here is the plumbing I have done, pick it apart and I will make corrections or take ideas and work with them as I have no glued anything yet and wont until I am satisfied this is the best way to go

Update:

Where does the time go!! I can't believe its been 11 days since last update. have been working on boring stuff with the tank but its making progress

Finished installing the electric to the room yesterday. Added 16 outlets to the room with 20 amps per box (4 boxes) spread around the room after putting in a 100 amp sub-panel

Here is the two boxes near the end of the tank

Also I thought I would add a pic of my "cooking" the rock. I powerwashed the rock and there was NO stuff left on it when it went into the tank. When I drained it after 14 days it had about 3 inches of sludge at the bottom of the tank!! It was amazing how much has come from the tank.

Right now the tank is running with hydrocloric acid at 2 gallons to 500 gallon ratio and it is as clean as new! I now have some of my older equipment soaking in the tank to get the grit and grim off.

Next comes some finish work hopefully then the lights rack, drill the sump for the skimmer and find some sand. I am hoping for 4 weeks to have water in it and going.

More to come later!!

Did you buff out any pre-existing scratches yet? Don't get so excited you forget that. It's much easier now than later.

Looking good so far!

Looks good.. Wish I had access to my Elc panel here to run a line or two to the basement.

How about a pic of the tank now that you have gotten it cleaned up?

Hard to get a good pic of the tank as its not real clear with all the gunk still in it, but you can see the back how clear it is. Second pic if the sump flowing and full

I would strongly recomend using gfi outlets instead of standard ones. I have been saved twice by them and with that much water you better be safe than shocked or electrocuted.
