Here we go again!

Red Tide (algae) problem?

Red Tide (algae) problem?

How bad are the beaches due to the Red Tide problem this year?

Looks like the storm will be far enough way not to do any real damage... hopefully it will move this black-death (red tide) out of here!

Not fun when you go to the beach and see dead sea turtles washing up on shore!

Katrina......was just a small tropical wave above the Bahamas two days ago, nobody was ready in Ft. Lauderdale/Miami for this girl.

The news stations were saying little than we were going to get some rain.......she came ashore and caused massive damage, 1.5 million without power and 7 deaths.

Key west was hammered for 20 hours and is underwater.
18 inches of rain in Perrrine, much wind damage in the lower Keys.

Now we wake up this morning to a Category 5 storm, simply catastrophic. Winds are at 160 miles an hour and looks like it is going to hit New Orleans. If this happens, pray for those people as it will cause huge amounts of damage and loss of life.

They are calling for up to 50 foot waves, and storm surge all the way to interstate 10.

This storm is truly a monster, one of the worst to ever form in the Gulf of Mexico.

Lets all hope for the best for those folks.

Yes, a CAT5 is BAD (to say the least)!... I ment we're clear of it here in the Tampa area... Of course the seas arnt the best conditions right now for boating/diving! heh

I talked to a friend in the keys (marathon) and he said it "wasnt bad here, just some rain".

Yes look here

this storm is incredibly huge....never have I seen one so large, it is bigger than the state of Florida.

They are saying we are going to get huge swells and beach erosion out of Katrina, and we are 200 miles away from her here in Tampa.

Which might agitate and stir up the red tide bloom, which may be a good thing.
