So ill be honest and say that i have not done very much research on this idea but it almost sounds like it should work very well.
why dont more people with nps tanks have an undergravel filter that is drawn through a crushed coral bed or even doing a plenium style setup to help feed there tank?
now as i typed this i understand why the crushed coral idea is the same as a bare bottom but if you want a little bit of natural look this would be a good idea. and for otheres that are wondering why. whatever food is not caught but the corals and invertsand hits the bottom can then be pulled up and recycled again and again till the next feeding.
with a plenium style there are little bacterias and goodies that live in the sand bed. they go to deep they will get pulled through.
But my last question is this as well. why does everyone filter so heavy and not have more then you think is enough flow in your tank to constantly have the food suspended?
did i make any sense?:lol2:
