hermit crab with eggs?

We caught one hermit crab switching shells and when it came out it appeared to be covered with lots of dark greenish eggs. Has anyone seen this before? Since I've never seen a hermit outside its shell before, they all could look like that. Any chance this one will produce a bunch of baby hermits?

She may go dormant somewhere (probably the least convenient spot in the tank) for a week. She'll hatch them inside her shell, likely, and release the little swimmers some night. I was fortunate enough to see it happen. Unfortunately they tend to get lost in the pumps or eaten by others. If you could set her up a smallish tank with identical water and have microshells available for the young when they settle to the bottom, you might stand a chance of some living. A bubbler might suffice. Note: immediately after hatch, she'll molt, which is another 3 days of sitting still. She hasn't died, just sits without moving. Eventually she'll resume activities, but may be delicate for a molt or more.b

I'll keep an eye out after "lights out" and hopefully be lucky enough to see them released. Although I didn't see the shell switch live, my wife took some awesome pictures. I'll try to get them posted to my gallery in the next few days.
