does anyone have alot of hermit crabs they are willing to sell? if you can match under a dollar per hermit i will consider!

You're a retired millionaire and you're worried about prices?

Check ebay. There's a seller on there that has them 500 for $100 plus around $50 for shipping. That's REALLY cheap.

ya f'sho. should i tell you how to be a millionaire and retire at the age 25? save your money and dont spend it on useless things. then soon you will become a millionaire. plus other things contribute;)

Hey, you have a point there! :)

Honestly though, the best deal I have found for hermits was that 500 count one. I don't remember the seller's name off-hand, but it seemed like a really good deal. I think the cheapest I've seen Emerald Crabs for on there was 5 for $18 or something like that. There are also some great deals on snails, too. It's just the shipping costs that can kill if you don't order enough to even it out or make it worthwhile.

Yeah it also helps if you have a rich mommy and daddy
anyway you really shouldn't be feeding your mantis just hermit crabs you should have a varied diet of Shrimp/prawn, silversides and then a hermit or snail 2 or 3 times a month. crabs really don't have all that much nutritional value and your mantis could injure itself always beating shells. if you want hermits go support your LFS buy hermies from them they will cost you a tad bit more but just look at this way they wouldnt cost as much as lets say a new pair tennis shoes and racket or a set of golf clubs

I'm on Lizard Iland for the next three weeks collecting and I told myself that I would not log on or respond to threads, but this one is something I know something about. Hermits are nutritionally the equal of any food that a smasher stomatopod might take. In fact, they are probably better than snails because the shells are easier to open and require fewer strikes per calorie. I certainly would not say that an O. s might injure itself breaking them. That is what they do for a living!

its okay to feed them hermits but you want to have a variety in their diet. not just hermies every time. rotate between hermies, crabs, snails, silver sides, and different stuff.
