hermits for snails or?

I have somewhere between 5-10 hermit crabs in my tank, some red leg, some blues. I am at my wits end with them, as they just kill off my snails and steal the shells. So what Im offering is a trade for snails. Turbos, nass, margaritas, etc. Anyone whos interested just send me a pm and we'll figure something out, I live on the corner of westcott and clarendon streets. Would also trade for a frag of something, doesnt need to be = value just looking to rehome the crabs and add something new to my tank. I can even provide you with extra shells for the hermits to grow into.

Why don't you just get a couple of medium/large empty shells from whoever you originally bought the snails/crabs from. Thats what I did and I've had 4 blues, 2 reds, and 2 snails living in the same tank for 8mo now. Hermits keep upgrading to random shells placed around the tank.

I have 5 hermits and 3 snails. I've never had a hermit kill a snail.

I have extra shells, lol and plenty of them. Still the crabs have eaten a bunch of my snails. At one point I had 3 turbos, 3 chestnut turbos, 1 margarita, and about 12 what I was told are zombie snails(they have the snout that comes out of the sand and are usually buried) a couple bumblebee and a few spiny star astrea. Now i've got 1 turbo and about 5-6 zombies left and the crabs =(

the zombie snails are nassarius snails, they do act quite like zombies though. Ive never really had any trouble with hermits killing snails... just killing each other. You could try removing the trouble makers if you see them killing snails.

Yep, thats what Im trying to do lol. I just dont want to kill them, as much as they upset me by killing snails(ive witnessed it) I dont want to kill them. Figured Id offer them here and see if anyone is interested before asking LFS about possible store credit.

Where are you located? I'll give you a few $ for your hermits. They'll be fed to my mantis shrimp and this way I'll save you the look the LFS employee would surely give you for looking for store credit for 5 hermit crabs lol.

Honestly tho, it's difficult to say whats going on here...sometimes snails just die off and the hermits are doing their job of cuc. Other times they gas from a poor acclimation and sometimes there indeed ruthless and nasty hermits lol.
