I'm in the initial stages of planning my comeback here so soon I'll be looking for a 150RR (72 x 18 x 28). I figured I'd check in with all of you to see if any of you know anyone with that size for sale or know of the cheapest place to get one. My guy didn't impress me with his quote this time....

You looking for a 150 gallon tank? Or you're making a 150 gallon skimmer? :D

Glad to have you back Kent.

Got a skimmer yet or are you going to build another?

Ya know I have no idea what I'm gonna do. I was thinking of just getting an ER RC180 and being done with it. I really don't have the time nor inclination to build much more than a sump these days.....

Glad to see you back!!! I have a AGA 40g long and stand for sale still:D

got a 125 flatback hex RR that is going to be for sale in a few weeks. Its an oceanic and I am just going to ask for what I paid, $475. Let me know if your interested./ Have a pine stand also

Actually I decided to go with a 4ft 150 tall- Do you guys know if an ALL-GLASS tank can be bought NOT tempered? I'm gonna run it with 3 sides viewable so I'd need the holes, overflow to be on the 24" end...I think I will go ahead and build a skimmer with stuff that I have leftover as well as a calcium reactor since I'm gonna go back to the SPS thing again....How has the success been with T5's and sps? I've been outa the game for a while....

A 31" deep tank is a tough one for T5's. For an example, on a 24" deep tank, 175w 15,000K Iwasaki's are about 30% brighter at the sand than a 6 bulb T5 setup w/individual reflectors.

Yeah I figured as much- I was hoping something had changed since I got out. What are the hot MH bulbs now? I was thinking of going with a pair of 400 watt 14K's if I went the MH route...

you might check about the tempered glass i am not sure what brand tank my 150 is but the bottom is the only pane tempered. it is an old tank of roy's. i just drilled four hole in the back.

I think I'm gonna go with a glass cages standard 150 tall so Fade and I can break...I mean drill it where I want and build my own overflows. I decided to go with 6 T5's and stick with the LPS/Softy thing with a few easy SPS near the top. I don't want to get too complicated with this....I'm gonna build a Deltec AP851 clone for a skimmer as well as a kalk reactor ans sump. I'll use a similar concept that I used with my rubermaid sump before with active flow carbon canisters...Should be cool. I'm getting pretty excited about getting back into the hobby :-)

Glad to see you getting back into it!!

Any chance Capo and I could pick your brain about cutting some 1/4" aluminum...we are lacking the shop setting:)

Thanks guys- Believe it or not I used my mitre saw to cut my 1/8" aluminum for the reflectors I made but that might be a little tough with 1/4". Do you have access to a band saw? That would prolly work best...

BTW, I may be selling that monster H Crispa and the mated pair of cinnamon clowns...I'm thinking of going a different direction as far as the whole clown and anemone thing goes....
