Hi, New Member From London Here...

Hello people, My name is Mark, I'm 24yrs old & I live just outside of London(UK)...I have been passionate about Marine Aquarium's for years now & after working my way up the ladder from the age of 10, I have owned both tropical & coldwater tanks.

Last year I decided to make the plunge & purchased a Juwel Trigon 190L Corner Tank that I had setup as a Reef using soft corals & inverts until last week when I decided to ditch the corals & go down the F/O route.

After joining some of the UK based forum's, I was appaled by some of the attitudes of UK based aquarists, Therefor i swiflty closed my accounts & because I have heard nothing but good things said about RC, I decided to sign up here.

I will get some pics of my tank up this afternoon but just wanted to stop in & say hi before I start posting. I couldn't find a "Newbie" section so I hope I put this In the right place.

I'm looking forward to meeting you all & hopefully having many interesting chats with alot of you, aslong as your happy to have me here.

Thanks for the welcome guys, can't say I know anybody called shayne but you never know. Here are some pictures I just took, They are not great as I used an iPhone 3GS but there ok.

Thanks for sharing the pictures. How long have you had the tank set up, about a year right? I imagine a lot of the flack you got from the UK boards was regarding to the livestock in the tank? I would suggest that it's pretty aggressively stocked for the size (about 50 US gallons, yes? many of those fish are recommend for tanks 3-4 times the size), so don't be surprised if folks express those thoughts. But welcome again, I hope you find this a good home for learning and sharing.

Hi there, Yes the tank has been running just over a year, about 14months. I didn't get any grief from the UK aquarists at all, it's just that I don't agree with the policy's of aquarists & LFS around here. Amazingly most of them were trying to get me to ADD livestock!!! I am however aware the tank is a little on the tight side so thankyou for that, I sort of Inherited the porcupine but I have no problems with territory or aggressive'ness in the tank at all. The tank is due to be upgraded In the next few weeks to a 120G anyway so I am keeping a close eye on it till then. Thankyou for your comments & concern. Mark
