Hi!

Insane Reefer

New member
Hi All,
I'm in Columbia, and am hoping to have the stuff to start setup on a 29gal reef w/fish in July or August. I haven't had a reef in a few years, and am really excited. I am also out of the loop as it were. I'm looking to "meet" local(ish) folks who might be willing to share, trade and sell tank goodies. At first I would be looking for healthy DSB starts, and a few small rocks or rubble, or to go in on a LR order. Later would be looking for critters and corals and stuff.

I have a lot of my equipment already, but my next step while I save up money for lights and stand is to make my live rock. I have made several batches of the stuff in the past and have gotten pretty good at it. I have a couple of idea's I want to try before I make my rock for this tank, and since this will be a small batch, and experimental, I wanted to see if anyone would be intersted in coming and doing sort of a workshop with me. If anyone is interested, we can talk about details then.
We would make rocks you could each take home, based on the "Traditional" recipes. It'll be fun

Do you actually have to live in St Louis to join SPLASH? And do you actually have to put in appearences? I'm really shy and get tongue-tied and flustered around people...

Anyway, just wanted to say "Hi!" and let you all know there is a new kid on the block.

Thanks!

:D

Anyone from anywhere is free to join SLASH. Attendance and/or appearances are not necessary but you might want to give it a try. We have some very nice, fun people in the club and you could be missing out..

Welcome to the forum! Feel free to be a part of SLASH and let us know if you need anything. We are always here and up for suggestions. Making up some rock sounds like fun. Finding a place to host such an event sounds like a challenge.

Welcome

I have a HUGE back yard - a place isn't a problem...

And thanks for the welcome ;)

I posted this in the "Mid-Missouri" club, and haven't even gotten a hello in return - and that was like 3 days ago, lol

Even though you live less than 2 hours away. You can still participate as a member in many ways. Even home bodies are welcome in the club. In the Road Trip! poll you will see we are not afraid of a road trip either! :D

We welcome you, Insane, seems like you'll fit in just fine. And don't be worried about being tongue-tied around us, everyone is very laid-back and unpretentious.

Anyone who would spend $500-$xxx on a box of water goes down as "insane" in my book...

At least I haven't lost MY marbles, hehehe....

Chelsea - when you get back in the fall, maybe we can get coffee at Osama's or something :)

'sokay Marbles - figured you were joking, hence my "hehehe". I just figured I'd join in the fun :p

Oh, and Ironically, I will be in St. Louis area on Sunday - going to the Renn Fest with my Stepdad and his girlfriend - we are all dressing up like pirates, Avast! My stepdad, has gotten silly in his old age and discovered the fest when I took him to the KC one 2 years ago. Now he has like $500 worth of pirate wear, lol. Though at first he did the celtic thing with a kilt...
And cowboy hat, and big rodeo like buckle, and cowboy boots...
LOL!
