Hide and go seek tang

So I brought home a yellow tang the other day and all he does is hang out behind my live rock. I see him come out but as soon as he sees me hes gone. Any advice to try and lure him out all the time?

do you have any other fish in the tank? If not, it might take a few days for him to get used to everything before it comes out.

My yellow tang was doing the same thing when I first got it. It takes some time for them to acclimate to everything in the tank but it will eventually come out. Now everytime I feed, its the first one out and in front of the tank.

Thats just what tangs do. I've had my hippo for 4 years and he still hides when someone walks into the room.
If they see the food bucket, then no one hides, or they all dart and then run right back out.
Try moving slowly and staying back from the tank... I know that helps with mine.
