Performed my first 40 G water change after switching to reefcrystals. Fresh mixed water without any additions tested as follows:
Temp 81
Salinity 1.025
PH 8.4
Ca 460
Mg 1140
Kh 19 (tested 2 times!!!)

Tank water tested as follows 1 day post water change:
Salinity 1.025
Temp 82
PHh 8.3
Ca 500
Mg 1000 ( had dropped from 1260 in May-June to 960 in Jul and now up to 1000)
KH 12
No3 30-35 like Jul
Po4 0

Does anyone get 460 Ca from freshwater mix with reefcrystal?
I could relate my Ca level to dosing CA balance. but then it is supposed to add MG too so why would my MG be low?isn't it consumed proportionally to Ca?
I will be adding Epsom salt or Mg Chloride if I can find some here, but would appreicate if anyone can explain those weird results.
My Ca and Mg were always very stable even when dosing Ca balance or Purple up only once a week as I have a very low demand tank (Softies and few LPS)
How about the hardness of the water is 12 still acceptable or is it too high?
any need for action from my side or just stopp dosing Ca till it dropps and try to adjust MG levels?
Thanks

Seems Reef Crystals has been all over the place for many months now, there are lots of threads if you do a search.

12 dkh is getting up there, personally i would keep it from going any higher.

I know Randy will tell you to not heavily use MgSO4 for you Mg or also use MgCL2 as well to maintain the ionic balance.

Mag Chloride is a better choice for adding Mg to the water.
I suspect that there is a testing error some where. With those levels there should be abiotic precipitation occuring the the tank.

I usually have to mix MgCl2 into the pure water before I add any salt mix.

Good Luck!
