High dollar Clams

Just curious as to what is the most expensive ordinary maxima you have seen at a LFS? For fun, lets keep the size under 2" and say that it is "farm" raised?

The reason that I ask, is that I just saw a less than 2" maxima (with some nice color, but nothing unusual) for... ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS!!!! I was floored. I asked the guy why they were charging nearly twice the normal price for maximas and he said it was because it was "farm" raised.

these were for 90 Euros (around 130 usd at that time) in a LFS in holland. Maricultured and all shining like diamonds.

Got the one in the middle of that pic which looked to be the brightest of all the collection.
Made if for few months in my tank and died for no apparent reason when another clam next to it was building growth plates...

Got this one (though a bit bigger) for around 120 usd

weirdly when our LFS was charging for 70-80 usd for similarly sized and much less colored clams they're just charging 40 on their last shipment. Got this one

and another green one which I have no pics of yet. all clams except for the 1st set are wild collected.

Those are nice looking clams. I thought the price was a bit high for this area. For example, over lunch I bought a nice derasa for right around $36 usd. I just can't imagine paying over $140 for a maxima baby.

My LFS which is an ORA dealer, will occasssionally get in some of their maximas. I paid about $70 for one a year and a half ago.

$50-70 is the going rate for smaller maximas in this area. that is why I was floored.
