High flow or low flow fuge?

I'm getting ready to plumb a sump for a new display and am undecided on method for the fuge portion.
Please give me your opinions on pro's and con's of both set ups.
The fuge portion will be a duplex method using a DSB.

Here is my sump. the water flows from the outsides to the center, so water passes from the left side through live rock then to the skimmer and then to the return pump. for the fuge I T'd the inlet so water can travel to the fuge section on the right and then to the return pump in the center. The reason I plumbed it this way is so I can control the flow through the fuge with a ball valve. So I'm running it low now and the chaeto is growing like crazy.

I think the flow in my HOB fuge is running a bit too low. On the Pro side, the chaeto must have plenty of time to absorb every nutrient in the water that flows through the fuge. On the Con side, the fuge has turned into a detritus settling zone. There isn't much room for a powerhead, so I don't know whether I'll be able to give the fuge much more flow. I may start blasting it with the turkey baster every couple of days.

Have a separate 20g macro (mostly Chaeto) fuge that I fed from a drain 200-300gph. Found after I added a small PH (300gph) got better growth with the Chaeto.

I have a 30g fuge with a DSB a 150w MH and a mass of chaeto, I run about 600gph through it and see excellent algae growth and pod/mysis production.
Pros for more flow: better algae growth (at least for chaeto and a few others) and less DSB maintenance (I rarely have to stir the surface of the sand).
