High hat and porkfish care

I have caught on several occasions highhats and porkfish. Every time these fish succumb to ick after only a few days in the tank. The damsels, which are store bought, are fine. As well as four grunts which where caught with the porkfish. Are these porkfish like puffers which harbor pathogenic microbes in their guts? Which become a problem when the fish is confined in a smaller space.
I always have problems with the highhats. It is difficult to get them to eat. And when I do they don't last long. Always succumbing to some infection, or stop eating and just wasting away. I come to the point where I don't even bother to keep them any longer. Any advise? I try feeding them a wide variety of foods. Scallop and shrimp mixture laced with garlic, brine shrimp, and tubiflex worms.

thats pretty crazy to hear. Daveg99 here on this board and I have high hats we caught at bathtub reef. They have been doing great! They both in seperate tanks ate flakes the first day and anything we both threw in the tank. Mine is about 3 -4 inche long and daves is about the size of dime. Hes tiny but eats like a horse. Hight hats are a Very Very hard fish. Pretty surprising.

Thor is right. I have a hi hat from bathtub reef and he is tiny. He eats flakes and mysis on a regular basis. At first he only ate small pieces of flake. But after a few days he started eating mysis pieces that are so big they hang out of his mouth and he swims around chasing the frozen mysis eating chunks of it as he tears it up.
