high ph

how high is to high for ph,mine runs around 8.2 at night and up to 8.5/8.6 during the day since I started dripping kalk(about 2 gal. a day)is this ok or should i try to lower the ph somehow?

8.6 is pushing it a little. 8.5 top would be ok since you're dripping lime. Is this with a pH probe? What brand calibration solutions?

yes its with a ph probe,going to check the calibration tues.was calibrated with milwalkee solution.how do you clean the coraline off the probe or will it matter?

It works. Soak for about 1/2 hour and with a toothbrush gently clean it at about the 15 minute mark and then when done. Swish it around in some ro/di and recalibrate. I went for a year on my pinpoint and didn't do it but now with my orp probe, they require it weekly or they drift up so I just do them both on my weekend waterchange ritual.
