High PH...?

Guys just upgraded from my 75 to my 150 high and this is where my numbers sit after about a week. Everything in the tank seems fine except for one of my bird nests...What do you think should I do a water change to lower the PH a little? Thanks Joe

0.024 salinity
8.8 PH
0 Nitrates
0 Nitrites
0.25 ppm Ammonia

Alk is way too low, should be at least 7, but 8-10 or even 11 is okay. Four is not okay. Also you should absolutely have 0 ammonia, but if you're using API test kit it's known to give a false reading.

I'd doubt the reading of 8.8 frankly; particularly with Alk that low I'd expect a low pH not a high one.

Are you using RO water? I know my city water has a PH of almost 9. However after RO DI and salt mix I always get ~8. If anything, a reef or fowlr tanks PH will drop over time if not kept up, but not raise.

You may look into a pH meter, they are cheap.

LoL
I paid a little under $100 for mine. If your going to buy a PH meter I wouldn't go cheap. I would look to spend anywhere from $100 to $300 but that's just me.
