High Phosphate leaching from rock - persist or replace?

Hi All,

Been out of the game a few years and starting up a new tank. I'm reusing my old rock that was in storage for a 3 years. Soaking in RODI a week. Soaked in NSW a week and now curing in a tank. Seeded with a few small pieces of LR. Been about a month and my Nitrates are fine (5ppm) but rock is still leaching phosphates. Was 1.6ppm and did a 80% water change which dropped to 0.3. A week later it's back to 1.4ppm.

Starting some GFO and carbon today but wondering if it will ever stop leaching? Or am I seriously best to just get new rock and start fresh?

It will come out. It all depends how patient you are. I would do more water changes every 5 days over GFO. Or use LaCl though you have to set up something to make that work.
